In recent years, there has been increased in ATM robberies. Some banks have implemented Currency Protection Device (CPD) to deter ATM robbery as one of the counter measure to prevent unlawful and stolen money from circulation in the market. CPD will emit a bright colored dye ink to stain banknotes in the event the ATM is attacked.

Banknotes that have been stained with dye ink will lost its value and unfit for recirculation in the market. Member of the public must not accept dye ink stained banknotes as the banknotes are likely to have been stolen. If you have received or accepted any dye ink stained banknotes, report to the nearest police station immediately.
